Publisher: Grand Central Publishing Page Count: 224 Fiction Genre: chick-Lit, Romance, Drama Dates Read: October 19-20, 2015 Summary Robert Kincaid is a photography for National Geographic magazine during the 1960s. While on an assignment to photograph the covered bridges of Madison County, IA he meets Francesca, a married farm wife. Her husband and two teenage children are in Illinois for the state farm competition. During the 5 days her family is gone, Francesca and Robert fall passionately in love, but must decide what do about their feelings and futures. Review Let me start by stating how much I really hate the romance literary genre. I acknowledge that this was a very cliched attempt for Waller to reach the bored housewives and lonely women. All of that aside, Waller has created a very powerful and emotionally charged story about love, loss, and putting others before yourself. Francesca and Robert have a selfless love for one another. Many tears were shed while reading this one. Stupid empathetic feelings.
